These early days are once in a lifetime moments. Your baby will never be this tiny again and the newborn window is so small. My job is to capture every delicate detail before these little features change and the memory fades.
As a mother myself, I understand how precious this time is. As a trained newborn photographer, I know how to keep your baby completely safe, comfortable and calm throughout your session. Every movement, wrap and pose is gentle, considered and designed to create a beautiful gallery that feels pure and timeless.
My Hertford studio is warm, peaceful and fully prepared with everything you could ever need. Parents always tell me they feel able to switch off the moment they walk in. I take care of everything so you can relax and enjoy watching your baby being photographed.
WHAT YOUR NEWBORN SESSION INCLUDES
Newborns are photographed in a mixture of wrapped and unwrapped portraits, posed and natural images, prop setups and close up macro details of toes, lashes, lips and tiny fingers. Parent and sibling portraits are included at no extra cost.
Your baby is guided through a soothing flow that keeps them settled and comfortable. Most babies sleep through their entire session.
My clients often call me a baby whisperer because babies relax so quickly in my hands.
Newborn sessions are best carried out between five and twenty one days old.
Booking ahead is recommended so your place is guaranteed no matter when your baby arrives.
How Do I Book
Session Fee £99
The session fee is payable at the time of booking and secures your space in my diary. This fee covers my time and expertise, full use of my carefully curated luxury props and styling pieces, professional retouching of your images, and an in-person viewing appointment.
The session fee includes a 10x8 mounted print. Artwork and print collections are purchased separately at your viewing appointment.
Newborn Portrait Experience

Your newborn session includes a personalised viewing appointment where we design beautiful artwork for your home. Digital images are included complimentary with artwork collections and are not sold separately.
On the day of your viewing, we will look through your images together, and you will then choose the collection that feels right for your family.
A range of collections is available to suit different budgets.
Newborn sessions are relaxed and completely baby-led. We never rush your baby. I understand that visiting a new place with your brand-new baby can feel daunting, which is why every session is gently tailored to ensure the experience feels calm, enjoyable, and truly memorable for new parents.
My Hertford studio offers a warm, comfortable environment. I provide everything needed for the session, so parents can simply arrive and relax.
Sessions take place on weekday mornings.
Weekend appointments may be available by arrangement and may incur a surcharge.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A NEWBORN SESSION
Newborn Baby Photography is hugely popular and an ever-growing trend.
Thats a Wrap
Most newborn sessions start or end with a baby wrapped! This is because it is the fastest method for settling a baby and whilst they are settling, time can be used to capture ever-so-cute portraits of your baby. It is the simplest method of posing baby in props and colour changing to give you variety for your finished gallery.
As the baby settles, I move into unwrapping them and starting to bring out their treasured little features and then onto the newborn flow posing. When a newborn baby is wrapped it acts like muscle memory for them, they are limited in how easily their arms and legs can flail stopping the baby from the startle reflex, for them, it is just like being back in a mummy's womb. Safe, warm, and secure.

Flow Posing
To take all these beautiful portraits of your newborn baby, your baby ideally needs to be between 5-21 days old so this is where booking ahead is a must.
Pure beautiful little newborn babies in curled-up poses or propped inside baskets, surrounded by cute fluff are images that make the most hardened person go a wee bit mushy. As a newborn photographer, I will hold, soothe and pose your baby gently and safely. I am not only a mother myself (this alone isn't a qualification for posing newborns!) but I am trained by a number of the best trainers in the country in newborn art, to ensure your little ones have moved around safely as I wrap pose them and then head through flow posing.
I am often called a baby whisperer, but I like to believe babies have a sense of security with me and that is why they relax, this also enables parents to relax. I am always honored to be chosen to capture your images and pour my heart and soul into each session, my clients often comment they can see I love what I do.
99% of these poses are done on a newborn purpose-made posing station, where the beans underneath are manipulated and moved to help create little craters to gently support your baby. Additional 'beans' mini moon-shaped bean bags are also used.
