A Christmas Mini Session Filled with Magic and Motherhood

There is something truly special about stepping back into my studio for Christmas Minis this year. After a long season away and a full relaunch in Hertford, last week felt like a homecoming in every possible way. The studio lights were glowing, the Christmas trees were twinkling, and families filled the space with excitement for their festive portraits. It was the perfect reminder of why I love what I do.

This year I had the joy of creating my own Christmas Mini Session with my daughter, Lucia. It was a moment that felt both personal and symbolic. She has grown up in this business alongside me. She has watched me build sets, fluff blankets, soothe newborns, and create memories for hundreds of families across Hertfordshire. Having her with me in the studio again felt like a full circle moment.

Our set this year features a rich storybook backdrop, warm lights, and a traditional Christmas tree scattered with berries and soft frosted branches. Lucia climbed onto my antique wooden ladder, the same ladder that has appeared in countless shoots over the years, and she posed with the natural ease that only comes from growing up surrounded by cameras and creativity.

We captured portraits that feel timeless. Portraits that I know I will treasure forever. These are the images that remind me why photography is so important. Childhood passes so quickly. One moment they are taking their first steps in the studio, and suddenly they are nearly as tall as you and borrowing your lip gloss.

Last week marked the first Christmas Minis in my reopened Hertford studio and it was an incredible success. Every slot was fully booked. Parents walked in with excitement and walked out with the kind of portraits that become part of their family traditions. The feedback has been overwhelming and so heartfelt. Many families told me it felt like the studio had never closed, and that means the world to me.

Rebuilding this space has taken courage, patience, and a very strong cup of coffee, but stepping back into my creative world has filled me with purpose again. I am so grateful to every family who supported the reopening, every parent who booked last week, and every little one who brought their sparkle into the studio.

And of course, I am grateful to Lucia. She reminds me every day why capturing childhood matters so much.

Christmas Minis continue over the next few weeks and I cannot wait to welcome more Hertfordshire families into the studio. If you are thinking of booking or want to see more of my work, you can visit

Here is to a magical festive season and many more beautiful memories to come
